Hello everyone. I'll be traveling from the United States to Madrid and will be in Spain for about a month. During that time, my wife and I want to do a 4,000 km motorcycle trip, starting and ending in Madrid.

I'm looking to rent a BMW R1200RT for that month. This model has been highly recommended to me for its comfort for two people, and I think it would be the ideal motorcycle for our trip.

I have experience with large and touring motorcycles. In the United States, I have ridden a Honda GL1200, Honda Gold Wing GL1500, and Yamaha FJR1300. In addition, I have completed two motorcycle safety and riding courses in the last three years.

Of course, I would assume full responsibility for the motorcycle during the trip. My preference would be to take out insurance in my name, with adequate coverage, so that both the owner and I can have peace of mind.

Ideally, I'd like to rent an R1200RT for about a month, picking it up and returning it in Madrid. I'd prefer this option to buying a motorcycle, going through all the paperwork, and then having to sell it after the trip.

However, I also have family in Madrid who can help me with the purchase, registration, and subsequent sale. Therefore, if buying an R1200RT turns out to be the most practical option, I'm open to that as well.

I'm not necessarily looking for a new bike. An older, well-maintained, and reliable R1200RT would be perfect for us.

If any forum member has an R1200RT that they would be willing to rent out during that period, knows someone who might be interested, or can recommend any other options in Madrid, I would greatly appreciate any information or advice.

Thank you very much and greetings from Colorado!
