The power went out while I was updating my S1000XR (2026 model) motorcycle; the screen is now completely black, and the TFT instrument cluster won't turn on. What should I do?

Hello, these software lock-ups occur when you install an update and an issue arises during the loading process.
Without looking into why this fault occurred, your motorcycle is covered under warranty. Take it to your dealership—or wherever you purchased it—and have them install the software.

Yes, it happened during a software update. Since the motorcycle’s warranty has expired, I cannot take it to an authorized service center; I need to resolve this issue myself. I work with motorcycle software, and I have all the necessary equipment—ISTA, ICOM, ENET, and E-Sys—at my disposal.

In my opinion, the current BMW software is not available online. Also, I find it strange that your motorcycle—being a 2026 model—has an expired warranty. I’m sorry, but I cannot help you.
