Con la salida de la G650X van a quitar la "Dakar", en mi humilde opinion creo que se equivocan si lo hacen, pero parece que es lo que van a hacer en determinados paises.

BMW dealer told me today that der korporation is circulating a memo now which announces the F650GS is being discontinued and they will receive no more new shipments.
My guess would be......the market is cut throat in the U.S. and BMW are not happy. They will keep sending 650s to Australia, while we keep paying A$15,000 for them. They sell all they can get, here.
They sold all they could get here, too. Many dealers complained of not being able to get enough F650's in to meet demand. Don't try to understand the decision based on logic, 'cause there ain't none.
BTW, the Dakar has been discontinued worldwide. It's only on some other countries' websites because there is still a big enough stock left to be sold. There are actually 2007 Dakars in the U.S. (I've seen one at my dealer), but the stock is so low that they are now no longer promoting them.
